The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from God, made possible through Jesus Christ. We cannot earn salvation through good works, religion, or by simply trying to become a better person. We have all sinned and need a Savior.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, we can receive forgiveness of sins, be reconciled to God, and receive the gift of eternal life.
We Have All Sinned
The Bible teaches that every person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin separates us from God, and none of us can make ourselves righteous through our own goodness or works.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
Sin has consequences. Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
This is why we need a Savior. We cannot save ourselves—but God, in His love and mercy, has made salvation possible through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Died for Our Sins
Our sin separates us from God, but God did not leave us without hope. Because of His great love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived without sin and willingly gave His life on the cross for us.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
Jesus took upon Himself the penalty for our sins. He died, was buried, and on the third day He rose again. The resurrection is not simply part of the story—it is at the heart of the Gospel.
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
Jesus Christ has done what we could never do for ourselves. Through His death and resurrection, forgiveness and eternal life are offered to us.
Repent and Believe
Salvation calls for a personal response to the Gospel. Jesus calls us to repent and believe. Repentance means turning from sin and turning to God, placing our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” — Acts 3:19
We are not saved by our good works or by trying to make ourselves worthy of God. We receive salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
The Bible tells us:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9
And God’s invitation is open to everyone:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13

Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died for my sins and that You raised Him to life. I want Him to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward.
