How Can I Accept Jesus As My Savior?
“I am the Way, the Truth, the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
At the time of your birth, you were separated from God because of sin. King David said, “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Psalm 58:3 ESV
Because of this sin you are born into, you were separated from the holiness of God. So God, in his everlasting love sent his only begotten son Jesus to die on a cross (John 3:16). Because Jesus was perfect in every way (Hebrew 5:9), he took the sins upon himself and became a sacrifice to bridge the gap between God and man. Now Jesus sits on the right hand of God, making intercession for us everyday (Romans 8:34).
What does it mean to be saved?
Salvation isn’t something that we can just inherit from family members it’s a personal experience we have to have with Jesus (To have this personal experience see the prayer below). First and foremost, you must repent of your sins! Consider your life and anything in your life that would displease God. Read the following bible verses to see how God feels about our sins.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
Are you ready to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? If so, here is the second step, which is to believe that Jesus died for your sins. He paid the price for those moments when your failed and sinned. If you ask for forgiveness, he will give the gift of salvation freely to you.
When you ask Jesus into your life, you are also having your name written in the Lambs Book OF Life.
“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Romans 5:9-10
If you want to hand your sins to Jesus and feel his love and forgiveness in your heart then you must ask Jesus into your life. He is the only way to God and to salvation. Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9. But, the apostle John gives us this warning, “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” 1 John 2:23
Take a moment to ask Jesus to change your life. Recite the following prayer of salvation and your name will be written in the Lambs Book Of Life. Once you ask Jesus into your life, you are saved.
Prayer OF Salvation
“God, I am a sinner and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins that I have committed against you. I do believe Jesus was born of a virgin woman, lived on this earth performing miracles enpowered by the Holy Spirit, and died on the cross for my sins. I do believe that the Holy Spirit rose Jesus on the third day and now he is sitting on your right hand making intersession for me in heaven. I do believe that one day, Jesus will be coming back to rapture the church and there I will be with you for all eternity. In Jesus name, Amen”
